It has been a long and seemingly unsettled summer for me. I really need to take the time to sit quietly, detoxify my mind, and remember to be thankful for all the small blessings:
The dull distant clatter of an eleven-year-old beachcomber's windchime -
The first whiff of the sea breeze in the heat of the day,
Mixing with the burbling of a lunchtime stove-top espresso.
Footsteps creeping softly across the sandy beach house floor.
This same alley can be seen in the first episode of the new Netflix series Hibana (Spark), when Kamiya calls Tokunaga from Osaka.

35mm trailers tightly wound on a core, lit from below and shot at an angle. The pattern arising from the refraction of the sprocket holes is quite unique.

She waited for a train, any train, that would take her away from that horrible place. Her urgency was so great that she would take anything else as a means to escape: a car, a hot air balloon, a donkey even! As long as she was clear from that dreary, cold, grey land she would be happy.

The lucky meeting with Michela and Cheope, in a beautiful autumnal setting, gave me several photos. This one jumped to the top of my favorites taken this year. It's amazing how a photo session especially if unexpected, can turn on a circle of spontaneous empathy. I hope this image returns at least part of it, to you too.

Questa è balzata in cima tra le mie preferite scattate quest'anno. È incredibile come una sessione fotografica soprattutto se inaspettata, accenda un circolo di spontanea empatia. Spero che questa immagine ne restituisca almeno una parte, anche a voi.

I felt so small standing on this bridge. You could hear two big thuds when cars drove over the bridge, making the scene more dramatic.
The surprising feature of this image is that it was busy in Fore Street Hertford today but I managed to get a picture as if lockdown was still in place. Can’t wait for cafes and restaurants to open inside I fear I will gain a few lbs which I lost in lockdown. We need to get our lives back safely and start our society again.
