Bruges on a cloudy September day

Princes Street is one of the major thoroughfares in central Edinburgh, Scotland, and the main shopping street in the capital. It is the southernmost street of Edinburgh's New Town, stretching around 1 mile (1.6 km) from Lothian Road in the west, to Leith Street in the east. The street is mostly closed to private cars, with public transport given priority. The street has virtually no buildings on the south side, allowing panoramic views of the Old Town, Edinburgh Castle, and the valley between.

Victoria Street was built between 1829-34 as part of a series of improvements to the Old Town, with the aim of improving access around the city. Previously, access from the Grassmarket to the Lawnmarket was via the West Bow, a very steeply sloped and narrow lane. The new street was planned to demolish much of the old West Bow, and provide a broad sweeping link to the newly built George IV Bridge.

It was designed by architect Thomas Hamilton, one of the leading lights in transforming the city with neo-classical buildings and much influenced by the architecture of ancient Greece. However it was stipulated that the buildings associated with the new street should be ‘Old Flemish’ in style, and draw inspiration from the details on Heriot’s Hospital.

One of my favorite things about visiting Michigan City is traveling by train to get there. Both Amtrak and The South Shore Line offer passenger to Michigan City from Chicago. As the South Shore Line passes through Michigan City, it "street runs" down the middle of 11th Street, making for some fun possibilities for photos.

Souvenir shops abound in London, the streets around the British Museum are no exception. A little tip, the further one is away from the attractions of the city center, the cheaper it is.

Image entry for the Red Light District Photo Contest.

♫♫ my music influence: ♫♫

oh, my goodness! I haven't entered a photo contest since 2009, this is so exciting for me. Win or lose this is a great opportunity for me to flex my skills and be a part of something fun. I would love to win any contest, but the most important part is sharing my artwork and meeting new people.

I DO MY ART FOR FUN!!! :p

I have my fingers crossed, hope you like my photo! :)

Stirling ( Scots: Stirlin; Scottish Gaelic: Sruighlea) is a city in central Scotland. The market town, surrounded by rich farmland, grew up connecting the royal citadel, the medieval old town with its merchants and tradesmen, the bridge and the port. Located on the River Forth, Stirling is the administrative centre for the Stirling council area, and is traditionally the county town of Stirlingshire. Proverbially it is the strategically important "Gateway to the Highlands".
