Can be nice as long as it is in a river, falling down in cascades as the Rhine Fall in Schaffhausen, Switzerland. But water can also be quite disturbing, I had heavy rainfall now for 3 days i. Switzerland, including my 850 km ride back today.
i can hear the sun
touch the water's edge
.
at the end of the day
as daytime turns to dusk
in that magic moment
before evening falls
.
or in the morning
as it first peeks above
the water's crest
.
not everyone can hear it
you have to listen
your very best
.
its sound
is softer than a whisper
as fragile as a dream
as quiet as an angel's wing
.
but if you listen close
you can hear it sing
.
oh yes i can hear the sun
touch the water's edge
.
Before this trip, I had never been to Ennerdale, and was delighted to find that it was such a wonderful area. One of the first shots I got was this simple classic composition looking out over the water. I was fascinated by the rocks which were sitting just under the surface, and experimented with a slow shutter to make the water more ethereal, apart from in the foreground, where the rocks would therefore be separated from the dramatic snowy hills standing tall in the background.
The water lilies (Nymphaea) are a genus of flowering plants in the family Nymphaeaceae (Nymphaeaceae).
Gullfoss is one of the most popular tourist attractions in Iceland. The wide Hvítá rushes southward, and about a kilometre above the falls it turns sharply to the right and flows down into a wide curved three-step "staircase" and then abruptly plunges in two stages (11 metres or 36 feet, and 21 metres or 69 feet) into a crevice 32 metres (105 ft) deep. The crevice [starts bottom right of the image], about 20 metres (66 ft) wide and 2.5 kilometres (1.6 mi) in length, extends perpendicular to the flow of the river. [Wikipedia]
